Defending Thomas Cup champions China were drawn against Thailand in the quarter-finals of the Li-Ning BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2014.
In a draw ceremony held after the completion of the group matches of the Thomas and Uber Cup late yesterday, China drew Thailand, while second seeds Indonesia drew Korea. Japan will clash against France and Denmark against Malaysia.
In the Uber Cup, defending champions and top seeds China face England, while second seeds Japan take on Denmark. Past champions Korea, led by Sung Ji Hyun, will be required to counter the challenge of Ratchanok Intanon and her compatriots from Thailand. Local stars Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu will find a noisy crowd backing them when they play Indonesia.
The draw was conducted after the group stage which confirmed the top two teams from each group. In the Thomas Cup, Indonesia and Thailand emerged No.1 and No.2 in Group A; Japan and Denmark in Group B; Malaysia and Korea in Group C and China and France in Group D.
In the Uber Cup, China and England were No.1 and No.2 in Group W; Korea and Indonesia in Group X; India and Thailand in Group Y and Japan and Denmark in Group Z.
The draw ceremony (featured image; above) was held in the presence of the Chief Referee, team managers and media, a few of whom were invited to pick the sealed canisters containing team names and place in the draw.

6 pm (India time): Thomas Cup: Denmark vs Malaysia; Korea vs Indonesia
Uber Cup: China vs England; India vs Indonesia
