Injury-Hit England Withdraw From Thomas Cup
England’s men’s team has withdrawn from the TotalEnergies BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals 2020.
BWF was informed by Badminton England that the withdrawal was unavoidable following injuries to several players.
As the prestigious event in Aarhus, Denmark, is only three days away, England will not be replaced by another team in Group D of the Thomas Cup.
Three other teams in the group – Japan, Malaysia and Canada – will now battle for the top two spots to qualify for the quarterfinals.
The TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2020 begins on Saturday 9 October.
